Program Overview & Outcomes
Our undergraduate program offering from this Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences is “B.Sc. in Food and Nutritional Science” a 4 years (8- semesters) bachelor/honors degree with internship /externship. We prepare students for leadership positions in the food industry, academia, and government. Our research programs are designed to expand understanding of the biological/microbiological, chemical, physical, sensory, nutritional, and engineering properties of foods and beverages. Our extension and outreach programs transfer research-based information and technology to consumers, food and beverage companies, and government agencies with the goal of enhancing the availability, quality, and safety of our food supply.
Student Learning Outcomes
The program will prepare student to be competitive for the entry level food science positions in private and public sector and also prepare students for advanced degree in a Food Science and Technology program.
Students will develop theoretical and practical knowledge-
- To understand the basic food safety issues in the food market.
- To develop and evaluate quality of new food products using objective and subjective methodologies.
- To understand the basic concepts in food chemistry and food analysis.

বাংলাদেশ সরকার এর খাদ্য মন্ত্রনালয় এর নিরাপদ খাদ্য কতৃপক্ষ সম্প্রতি একটি গেজেট প্রকাশ করেছে যেখানে নিরাপদ খাদ্য অফিসার, খাদ্য বিশ্লেষক, সহকারী পরিচালক, মনিটরিং অফিসার, গবেষণা কর্মকর্তা হিসেবে সারা বাংলাদেশের জন্য অনেক চাকরির পদ সৃষ্টি করা হয়েছে। ফুড সায়েন্স ও টেকনোলজি এবং মাইক্রোবায়োলজির গ্রাজুয়েটরা সরাসরি আবেদন করতে পারবে। সরকারী এসব পদে পিএসসির (বিসিএস’র) মাধ্যমে নিয়োগ হবে। গেজেটি এখানে দেখুন (Click here) এছাড়া সরকারী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অন্যান্য গ্রাজুয়েটদের মত আপনি রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সার্টিফিকেট প্রাপ্ত একজন গ্রাজুয়েট হিসেবে বিসিএস এর জেনারেল ক্যাডারের যে কোন চাকরিতে আবেদন করতে পারবেন।
